Look Who Found the Bathroom!!

It should be noted that under the pen, conveniently placed at the bottom of the toilet is the recent brochure on disciplining your child that we just got from Dr. Leach a few days ago. Is this a forewarning sign?? 

The Cooper Phenomenon

Lately Gage has decided that he either wants to be right by Cooper, or just into Cooper’s stuff. The jury is still out on how Cooper feels about it. Sometimes Cooper’s very patient and lets Gage do his thing, but other times Cooper looks at us and seems to say, “can’t I just have one small area that is just mine!” Gage loves to feed Cooper and help fill Cooper's water dish (and sometimes play in Cooper's water dish as well.....work hard, play hard right Grandpa?!! :)

The First REAL Fall

Do you remember me mentioning that Gage loves to walk, and independently at that, refusing all help offered? Well, that is why it only took 8 days for Gage to get his first "look I can walk war wounds." Of course it happened early in the morning, just as we were going to the car so that we could be to church on time. After some loves, apple juice, and Teddy in hand, Gage appeared to be fine and was smiling as we walked in to church, thirty minutes late :)

Happy One Year Birthday Gage!

We had a small celebration with just Gage, Rob, and I on Gage’s official birthday (we had a family party while visiting in Idaho). Rob met Gage and I on his lunch hour at Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. Gage had tons of fun crawling, sliding, pushing, and playing. After the museum I took Gage home and he took a well needed nap!

Gage wanted to keep pushing this mower around, but because he can't walk without assistance, he put too much pressure on it and he would fall backwards, with the mower on top of him. No matter how many times he kept falling over, he would try again. I even tried moving out of his sight but he always was able to find it. Yes, he is persistant!

 Our adventurous little spirit soon figured out that it was more fun to crawl up the slide and then slide down backyards.

 I wanted to try and get a picture with Gage and this background, but as you can see, Gage had different plans and was unwilling to sit there and smile when he could be playing. So the birthday boy got a wish granted and the obsessed mom with the camera let this one go!

Once Rob got home from work we had cupcakes & Gage opened up a few gifts that we had saved for him.

Hopefully Gage didn't get his math gene from his mom! I guess we need to work on numbers....no he is not 5, just 1 :)

 So happy and so full!!!

 And now...... so ready for bed!

State Fair

We were excited to take Gage to the State Fair this year. It was a particularly rainy week and we were hoping for good weather on Saturday—one of the few days we could go. Saturday came and so did the rain. The rain let up for a few hours and we decided to head out and see what we could. We got to experience a downpour for about 20 minutes while we were there. Luckily we made it to the barn where the cows were just before the heavy rains fell. As you can see from the pictures, Rob and Gage stayed entertained!

The pig races were fun to watch the announcers did a great job keeping the crowd entertained

Vacation Part 2

After spending time in Blackfoot, the whole gang drove up to Emmett for Kayla and Derek's reception. We stayed a few days with Dad in Emmett. My dad's good friend offered to let Rob and I use his cabin so Rob and I went to Cascade for a night to celebrate our anniversary. The powerhouse combo team of Dad, Shan, Trev, Kayla and Derek watched Gage for the night. We met my family at Black Canyon Damn the next day and when Gage saw us, he smiled and then went back to playing in the water with his "combo team!" Grandpa took Gage to the post office and with all the "rides" and fun things to do there, it was like Disneyland to an 11 month old.

Gage decided to have his first peaceful car ride and he slept most of the the trip up there

 We stopped for lunch at Smokey Mountain - one of mine and Shan's favorites! Mmmm, just writing about it and I am ready to go again!

 Rob was in love, borderline obsessed with the golf carts. Trevor and Rob were in charge of driving guests from where they parked up to the reception. Rob could have driven for two days straight : )

 We played Blackjack--------with Cheerios as chips!

 Happy 1st Birthday Gage!!!  (We celebrated a little early since the family was all together). Rob and I will celebrate with Gage on the official day as well. Hey, who wouldn't want two parties? :)
